Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  Below you will find  the "suggested" supply lists for each grade level.

Kindergarten Supply List

Dear Brookside Families,

         We are happy you are joining the Brookside family and for returning families, welcome back! At this time our classroom funding is limited for supplies.  If you can provide the following items, we would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.  Some of the supplies we will use at the beginning of the year and others we will save as replacements throughout the year.


Each student will need:


  • 2Homework folders – w/2pockets (NO PRONGS OR 3 RINGED BINDERS)


  • 1box large(NOT JUMBO)Crayola*crayons – 16pack

*Please purchase Crayola crayons.  They are the truest colors. 

2  boxes regular Crayola*crayons – 24pack

1  backpack (large enough to accommodate a folder)

4 oz.bottle of Elmer’s Washable School Glue

*We have found all of these items at Target, Walmart, Office Depot/Office Max.

**If you have a financial difficulty, please let your child’s teacher know.  We don’t want this to be an added burden.

First Grade Supply List - 2018

Your donations of the following school supplies would be greatly appreciated.  Please bring the supplies on Tuesday, August 14that our First Grade Orientation or on the first day of school:

      • 2 Homework Folders with 2 Pockets (NO PRONGS OR THREE RING     


       • 1 box of Band-aids 

       • 1 box of 8 or 16 Crayola Crayons – NOT FAT CRAYONS

       • 2 Large Pink Pearl Erasers (1” X 2”)

       •  1 large box of tissue

       • 3 large blackdry erase markers  

       • 2 YELLOW highlighters

         2 1.4 oz. Glue Sticks



DO NOTsend the following items to school:

Second Grade

Welcome to Second Grade!

We are thrilled to start a new school year and look forward to meeting all of you. 

If possible, please have your child bring the following school supplies. Please put your child’s name on only 2 things: the wide-ruled composition book and the folder. The rest of the items we share as a class.


  • A pocket folder of your choice (name inside)
  • 1 ea. 24 count box Crayola crayons                                    
  • 1 ea. 12 count box Crayola colored pencils
  • 1 package of 2 erasers
  • 1 package of glue sticks
  • 1wide-ruledcomposition book.  (Please don't get the Primary book that has an area for a picture.) Be sure to label it with your child’s name.
  • 12 #2 Ticonderoga pencils (these are only kind that don’t break)
  • 8 count box of broad Crayola colored markers
  • 1 box of Kleenex (and we’ll ask for another in January)

Welcome to 3rdGrade!  If you can please donate the following supplies during the first week, it would be greatly appreciated!  I am looking forward to meeting all of your beautiful children!!!

       1 Composition Book (wide rule)

       1 Sturdy Pocket Homework Folder (no clasps)

       1 Box of colored markers

       1 Box of colored pencils

       1 Box of 24 count crayons

Dear Parents,

     Welcome to 3rdGrade!!! If you are able to, please bring to school the following supplies by the end of August. 

  • 1 box TICONDEROGA #2 pencils
  • 1 plastic (or very sturdy) pocket folder for homework (no clasps, no binders, NO SOLID RED)
  • Bottle of Hand Sanitizer to be used by class
  • 1-2 boxes of kleenex
  • 2 large BLACK EXPO pens (dry erase)
  • 1 large glue stick
  • If your child would enjoy using markers, they may bring a set.

Fourth Grade

Dear Parents,

Welcome to 4thGrade!  We are looking forward to meeting you and your children. Below is a list of supplies your student will need for class each day.

  • Binder Paper
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Pencil pouch for storage 
  • Dry erase markers
  • Binder with a 1 to 1½ inch ring (optional)

No pencil boxes please.  Please keep extra supplies and pencils at home.

Suggested 4thGrade Donations

If you can, please also donate the following items to your child’s classroom during the first 2 weeks of school.  It would be greatly appreciated.

  • Boxes of TICONDEROGA #2 pencils

  • Yellow highlighters
  • EXPO dry erase markers (color: black)

5thGrade Suggested Supply List


Hand-held pencil sharpener

Colored Pencils

Dry erase markers – low odor please (preferably blue, green, or black)

Glue sticks, liquid glue (small)


4 Composition journals or spiral bound single-subject notebooks (Wide Rule is fine, 70 pages)

Pen for correcting – red or any bright/vivid color except black or yellow 

Earbuds for personal computer use

3x5 cards

Student planner – just a simple one

Pencil pouch – please no boxes


Crayons – More than 24 is not necessary

White board – approx. 9”x11”

Dry erase board eraser or old sock (clean) to be used as an eraser

Folders – at least 3


For the classroom (donations):

Clorox wipes

Kleenex or other brand tissue (some now and some in January)

Ziploc baggies/bags (variety of sizes)

Paper towels

TUB– (For Ms. Russell’s class this is optional) Students will keep all their supplies and some textbooks in tubs under their chairs. The best size is approx. 13”Wx16”Lx7”H (please nothing higher than 9” including the lid).

PLEASE do not send milk crates. They are too large.  

We will be able to supply ALL of the above to any student as needed, including a tub. However, kids often like to get their own supplies so that they can personalize them.
